Let's get your Silver shining again!
When you wear your Sterling Silver continuously the natural oils in your skin keep your silver polished. Sometimes you'll find when you take off your Silver and leave it off for longer than a week, you can find the Silver goes dull - this occurs because of the Silvers reaction to the air containing sulfur or oxygen.
Instead of using harsh chemicals to clean your Silver - Try these natural options you can simply find around the house!
Lemon is Silvers best friend! It contains citric acid, a natural cleaning agent powerful enough to help with oxidization and get your Silver back to shining brightly! Natural lemon works best for this, but bottled lemon juice will also work!
You can soak your piece in a glass bowl with fresh lemon juice - For even stronger results if your piece needs some extra love, add 1/2 cup of instant dry milk and 1/2 cups of water. Soak your piece overnight and rinse off in the morning with a micro fiber cloth. If you have a polishing cloth - That's perfect for removing the remaining oxidization.
To create the paste - Combine 1 part baking soda and 4 parts lemon juice in a glass bowl. With a lint free cloth dip into the paste and rub it into the silver until you've covered and rubbed all the silver. Then rinse and wipe with a micro fiber cloth of silver polishing cloth.
Be careful with any pieces that include a stone or shell as the lemon juice and baking soda can be too abrasive.
This method is only for Sterling Silver - Do not use these methods on plated silver as it can damage silver that isn't pure.
